CODYLAX® Suppository is indicated:
Symptomatic treatment of constipation caused by rectal dyschesia.
Preparation for endoscopic examinations of the rectum.
Bisacodyl ………………….. 5mg
Excipients: q.s.f ………….. 1 suppository
Children from 4 to 10 years old: 1 suppository (5mg) per day, ½ hour before intestinal evacuation.
Mode of administration:
Rectal route. Administration of suppository should be as short as possible (10days at maximum).
As with all laxative suppositories, prolonged use may give rise to sensations of anal bumming and exceptionally congestive proctitis.
Abdominal pain, nausea and diarrhea, hypokalemia.
Less frequency: Rectorrhagia, anorectal discomfort (bumming sensation and anorectal pain), vomiting.
Rare: Anaphylactic reactions, Quincke’s edema, Generalized pruritus, Dehydration, Dizziness, Syncope, Colitis including ischemic colitis.
Not recommended during pregnancy.
