Indication
Used for treatment of infections caused by sensitive micro-organisms: genitourinary tract infections, upper and lower respiratory tract infections, otitis, sinusitis, gastrointestinal tract infections, typhoid fever, Pneumocystis carinii pneumonitis.
Ingredient
- Sulfamethoxazole 400mg
- Trimethoprim 80mg
Direction
- BIBACTIN® tablet of 480 mg: Adult: 2 tablets, twice per day with a 12-hour interval. In case of severe infections: 3 tablets, twice per day.
- Special cases: acute uncomplicated urinary tract infections / Pneumocystis carinii pneumonitis / renal impairment: the dose is as directed by your doctor’s prescription.
Side effects
- The most common observed: gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, vomiting) and skin reactions (skin rash, urticaria).
- PREGNANCY AND BREAST-FEEDING: Ask for your doctor’s advice.
