Indication
This medication contains an antiparasitic from the imidazole family , an antibiotic from the aminoglycoside family and an antifungal .
It is used in the local treatment of vaginal infections, especially those caused by trichomonas , and fungal infections .
Ingredient
Metronidazole .................... 500mg
Neomycin sulfate ................ 65,000 IU
Nystatin .............................. 100,000 IU
Direction
In all cases, you must strictly comply with your doctor’s prescription.
Wet the tablet by dipping it in water for 2 to 3 seconds, then insert it deep in the vagina.
USUAL DOSE:
This treatment should not be repeated more than 3 times a year.
TIPS
Introduce the tablet while lying down, then lie down for about 15 minutes.
During menstruation, do not interrupt treatment and avoid wearing tampons.
In the event of recurrent gynecological mycosis ( candidiasis ), it is useful to follow the usual advice to prevent the abnormal development of candida albicans and other microscopic fungi:
- limit the intake of antibioticsto conditions that absolutely require their use. Indeed, fungi are destroyed by certain bacteria , themselves killed by antibiotics ;
- fight against humidity, conducive to the development of fungus: dry yourself well before putting on your underwear, favor cotton panties which absorb sweat better, do not wear your swimsuit after swimming in the pool, avoid wearing clothes that are too tight;
- often change internal or external protection during menstruation;
- avoid using acid soaps: they promote the multiplication of fungi.
Your partner may be infected even though he has no symptoms . If not treated together, recontamination is possible.
A red-brown discoloration of the urine is possible under treatment.
Side effects
Rarely: nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach cramps, metallic taste.
Exceptionally: allergic reaction , headache, dizziness , gait or balance disorder requiring discontinuation of treatment; pancreatitis .
In case of prolonged treatment or high dose: tingling, numbness of the extremities, decrease in white blood cells .
