Symptomatic treatment of bothersome non-productive coughs in adults.

Symptomatic treatment should be short (a few days) and limited to times when the cough occurs.
Catches must be spaced at least 6 hours apart.
In the absence of other medicinal intake providing codeine or any other central antitussive, the daily dose of codeine not to be exceeded in adults is 120 mg.
The usual dosage is:
· in adults : 1 to 2 tablets, to be renewed, if necessary, after 6 hours, without exceeding 8 tablets per day.
· in the elderly or in case of hepatic insufficiency : The initial dosage will be reduced by half compared to the dosage recommended for adults, and may possibly be increased according to tolerance and needs.
